Database Administrator

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Database administrator for Oracle, Microsoft SQL, MYSQL and other databases including database administration, backup and restoration and database performance tuning.
  • Perform day-to-day, monthly and yearly database administration tasks 24×7 support databases.
  • Provide database administration, maintenance and support activities such as installations, patching, bug and security fixes, SQL tuning, RMAN backup/restore, DB cloning, shell scripting, auditing, indexing and archival.
  • Setting up and administration of database replications or synchronization such as SQL cluster, Oracle Data Guard, Materialized View synchronization.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting databases and database application service problems.
  • Tracking of DB EOL’s/ EOS product version, plan and perform the upgrades or migrations.
  • Monitors database activity to ensuring database security, integrity, stability and system availability.
  • Monitoring, reporting and reviewing of Long running queries and blockings.
  • Monitor, review and perform actions based on the database and system alerts.
  • Provide monthly database performance and resource utilization reports.
  • Comply, implements and supports database security regulations, policies, and guidelines.
  • Perform maintenance fixes and patches as well as security hardening through Change Management process.
  • Perform database capacity planning and database maintenance.
  • Maintaining up to date database configurations changes and inventory.
  • Documenting Database Management processes and SOPs.
  • Supporting DR and BCP activities including new initiatives.
  • Create and maintain scripts or Menu to perform database related activities.
  • Vendor management for solutions, maintenance and support services.
  • Constantly improve processes and procedures in database management

REQUIREMENTS

  • Min 4-6 years’ experience in Oracle 11g, 12c and above database administration.
  • 2-3 years’ experience with MS SQL Server 2012 and up.
  • Experience in supporting Oracle Weblogic is an advantage.
  • Experience in applying database patches and perform database hardening.
  • Experience in performing database cloning and tuning.
  • Experience in database RMAN backup and restoration.
  • Experience in Data Guard.
  • Experience in Oracle multitenant, Hot Clone and ASM.
  • Experience in supporting large, complex and critical database environments.
  • Experience in cloud technology database will be preferred.
