About our client:
Our client is one of the leading Life Insurance & Investment company in Malaysia. As part of an international financial services group, the client offers a range of life insurance products in Malaysia including endowment plans, investment-linked plans, term life plans, and medical plans.
About your role:
- Establish strategic direction for Financial and Operation Audit Section.
- Obtain, challenge, and map company’s business process inventory to auditable units.
- Conduct Risk Assessment and establish audit schedule.
- Update audit procedures to comply with new requirements.
- Execute audit schedule using advanced techniques like data analytics and Machine Learning.
- Verify and validate open audit and regulatory findings through rigorous follow-up process.
- Collaborate with business professionals/leaders to identify risks and develop mitigating actions.
- Ensure timely and transparent communication on audit issues and control gaps.
- Evaluate and build skills of audit leaders and team members, holding them accountable.
- Attend risk, compliance, and business review meetings; work with Risk Officers to address issues.
- Oversee regulatory exams and adjust audit program accordingly.
- Develop clear goals and empower the team to make decisions.
- Support Head of Internal Audit in improving risk management, control environment, and operational efficiency.
- Take responsibility for engagement supervision, draft reports, and discuss recommendations with management.
- Assist Head of Internal Audit in selecting, developing, and managing the Internal Audit team.
Criteria to meet:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or in any related field
- Professional qualifications required such as CIA, CPA or CA
- 10 years of experience minimum required as an internal auditor
- Strong analytical, persuasive, influencing, and interpersonal skills
