About your new role:
The Business Analyst (Reporting Focus) is responsible for analyzing complex data sets, generating insightful reports, and providing strategic recommendations to improve business performance. This role requires a deep understanding of data analysis techniques, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights for stakeholders.
Data Analysis:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets from multiple sources.
- Identify trends, patterns, and correlations within the data to provide valuable insights.
- Develop and maintain data models, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Reporting:
- Create and design comprehensive reports, dashboards, and visualizations to effectively communicate key findings to stakeholders.
- Customize reports based on the specific requirements of different business units or stakeholders.
- Regularly update and distribute reports to relevant departments, highlighting crucial metrics and KPIs.
Requirements Gathering:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their reporting requirements and objectives.
- Document and prioritize the reporting needs of various business units and teams.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications for the reporting process.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for enhancing reporting processes and data management systems.
- Implement strategies to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting procedures.
- Proactively suggest improvements to existing reporting tools and technologies.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Present findings and recommendations to management and other relevant stakeholders.
- Foster effective communication between technical and non-technical teams to ensure a thorough understanding of reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align reporting activities with organizational goals.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of reported data.
- Develop and implement data validation processes to maintain data integrity.
- Address any discrepancies or anomalies in the data to ensure the credibility of reports.
- Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to end-users on how to interpret and utilize reports effectively.
- Offer guidance on best practices for data analysis, report generation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Act as a subject matter expert for reporting tools and methodologies.
Adherence to Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all reporting activities adhere to relevant regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
- Stay updated with industry-specific regulations and standards related to data reporting.
- Implement necessary measures to maintain data security and privacy.
Criteria to Meet:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other programming languages is advantageous.
- Knowledge of business processes and industry-specific reporting standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Travelling overseas is required.
