Finance Manager, Retail Industry

Position Level: Manager, HOD

Location: Cheras, KL

Salary: Pays up to RM13, 000

About our client:

Our client is one of the leading watch retailers carrying some of the luxury designer brand and sought-after timepieces in the world of watches.

About your role:

Lead the finance & accounting team
Oversee the accounts, cost control, corporate finance, treasury, and taxation of the group of companies
Main liaison and communication point with the internal and external auditors, leading the audit activities to ensure fulfilling the agreed timelines
Identify the needs and suggest process improvement
Strengthening internal controls & the computerized accounting processes to ensure effective and efficiency of the accounting processes
Support and identify potential tax liabilities
Prepare monthly management and financial accounts with relevant supporting schedule and documents within stipulated datelines
Maintain journal entries, analyse and reconciles general ledger, inter-company accounts, expenditure & revenue accounts, including merchandise movement within the group operations
Manage & monitor the daily & monthly cashflow report & projection
Advisory to the management & directors on financial and accounting related matters
Liaise closely with the bankers to manage the banking facilities including BA/TR, reducing financing costs
Main liaison with various external parties including Company Secretary, Tax Agents, Solicitors, Government Authorities, Bankers, Auditors

Criteria to meet:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant disciplines
At least 8 years relevant working experience in finance & accounting, with at least 3 years into a managerial capacity
Knowledge/hands-on experience in Goldsoft ERP and SAP would be an added advantage
Statutory Taxation, GST submission
In-depth knowledge in all finance, accounting and treasury functions
Tech-savvy, handy with computerized accounting environment
Stakeholder management skills
Prior experience working in the retail industry would be highly regarded
