Operations Manager

Job Description:

  • Manage daily operation activities (Order and customer management) and work procedures.
  • Provide quotations as requested by a direct inquiry from customers.
  • Efficiently handle customers complaints & requirements and recommend corrective action plans.
  • Build and maintain close relationship with customers, operations, sales, and accounts department.
  • Developing new vendors, building vendor relationships and managing processes with vendors.  
  • Ensure shipment requirements are met and jobs are completed within the prescribed KPI limits.
  • Validate delivery of export documents are timely and accurate first time.
  • Set expectations on task completion and ensure tasks are completed prior to set deadlines and evaluate performance.
  • Responsible for correct and timely provision of all freight documentation to customers.
  • Manage daily administration (order management for house account customers, deliveries, etc) to ensure operational activities are carried out effectively and efficiently in a timely manner to meet customer requirements.  
  • Investigate and action on all non-conformance and recommend corrective action plans, exceptions and problem escalation.
  • Supervise work of all team members and provide appropriate training as needed to ensure achievement of all set goals.
  • Plan and monitor daily staffing schedules and adjust accordingly to ensure adequate staffing levels that support operational demands and business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess minimum Diploma holders and above.
  • At least 7 years of experience in freight operation and 2 years in supervisory position.
  • Result oriented, pro-active and possess a positive work attitude.
  • Ability to multi-task, and work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Preferably Supervisor / manager specialized in freight forwarding industry or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Air and Ocean Freight operation.
  • Understand diversity and working with different cultures.
  • Persistent self-starter who is excited to guide across functional team through complex analysis.
  • Able to work in an agile in a fast-paced working environment. Must be a strong team player, hardworking, work on demand & hands-on.
