ROLE SUMMARY

Responsible for developing and driving strategies on pricing and reinsurance for all lines of business, with the aim to profitably grow the business.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Drive and implement pricing and reinsurance strategies with the aim of achieving financial targets for sales growth and profitability.
2. Scope covers all lines of business – Life and Health, both protection and insurance savings. It covers all distribution channels, currently Agency (for individual retail products), Group (for corporate employee benefits and products for affinity groups) as well as new, alternative partnerships.
3. Specific roles include:
   1. Lead and mentor a team responsible for pricing, reinsurance and related activities.
   2. Develop pricing basis that are risk appropriate and fair to customers.
   3. Develop or enhance models or tools for pricing products.
   4. Collaborate with other departments, providing input on product design and implementation.
   5. Develop a reinsurance strategy as a means to manage risk.
   6. Liaise and negotiate with reinsurers on treaties, retentions and pricing.
   7. Monitor experience and make recommendations on pricing and product design.
   8. Support other business stakeholders on technical actuarial matters.
   9. Provide input for management decisions related to areas under responsibility.
